Made from durable melamine and featuring a fabulous scrimshaw illustration of a blue whale this tray made us fondly recall many school trips to the Natural History Museum!
The term scrimshaw refers to one of the first American crafts, originated during the United States' earliest years by sailors on whaling ships. While waiting for the cry "Thar she blows!" crew members occupied their minds and hands with scrimshaw, scribing designs on ivory, whale teeth or whalebone.
Dishwasher safe, but not suitable for microwave use.
